K-5 Remote Learning Activities

We have developed a website for our K-5 families that are looking for more learning activities on remote learning days (these are NOT required, just optional).

The Remote Learning Extension Activity Website provides extension activities for math, literacy, and each of the special area subjects. The website will be updated weekly. Math and literacy lessons that the specialists deliver each week will be recorded and posted for students to review at their convenience. Please use these activities as you see fit to supplement student learning and engagement on the remote learning days.

Free Meals Extended

ALL STUDENTS receive FREE breakfast and lunch (every school day)!

Parents/guardians, your child(ren) can receive one free breakfast and/or one free lunch meal each school day, as part of federal funds extended by Congress until Dec. 31 or until funds run out.

Students do not have to be on a free or reduced meal plan - this is applicable to all students. No eligibility is required.

Students who would like to receive a breakfast and/or lunch may do so anytime by simply telling our Food Service staff their name and/or by using their student ID card (secondary schools).

We are also offering meals for remote days (hybrid and full virtual) for pick-up at 3 locations. Parents requesting a meal on remote learning days must pre-order. Visit our website at fairport.org and click on “Departments” and then “Food Service” to complete the pre-order form.

If you have any questions, please contact our Food Service office at 585-421-2323.

Families are encouraged to apply anytime during the school year (or summer) for free and reduced meals, especially if a parent/guardian becomes unemployed, has a decrease in household income, or an increase in family size. The District is encouraging families to apply now if they have experienced any of the above, as they may be eligible for meals at school for their children.

Mental Health

  • Safe School Helpline

Other

The Fairport CSD is here to support our students, families and staff. The District encourages you to contact your school principal, assistant principal, mental health staff, or any staff member you know. Visit your school website here for contact information.

PikMyKid

For elementary parents/guardians who have chosen to pick up their child(ren), please be sure to familiarize yourself with the new PikMyKid app that our four elementary schools are using this year to help speed up the dismissal process for students in grades K-5. More information was provided by your child(ren)’s school, but as a reminder please do the following:

  • Download and register through the app “PikMyKid”

  • Place the PikMyKid Car Tag in your front window (this will be mailed home to you)

  • Use the app to make any dismissal changes by 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday

  • You can make changes any time on Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday

  • When you enter school property, you will see a stopping point. Hit the “Announce Button” on the app. It will turn green and alert us you are in line to pick up your child(ren). This will help us sequence students in the same order you entered the school property car line. If you do not have the app at that time, an adult will be there to help you.

  • Families can easily assign pick-up permissions to other people for certain days, times and pick-up modes. You can also set up a schedule to repeat throughout the year and update as necessary.
